Beth Israel Center High Holiday Minicourse Open to Grades K-7 This Fall!

Beth Israel Center’s Talmud Torah program is happy to announce that this fall our education team will be offering a High Holiday Minicourse, a four-week program for kids grades K-7 dedicated to the values, experiences, and celebration of the Jewish High Holidays.

The program will be offered September 12 - October 12 and will be accessible to children with at all levels Jewish education, with flexible attendance options.

Membership at Beth Israel Center or enrollment in our full Talmud Torah program is NOT required. The program is free for the students already enrolled in our Talmud Torah program. It is open to ALL interested families; those not currently enrolled in Talmud Torah may participate for a fee. The fee structure is below.

We hope your students can join us to explore the meaning of the holidays, the practices, the big questions, and the fun celebrations! Shabbat and Kashrut rules are observed in our synagogue.

We will….

  • Bake honey cakes

  • Learn about bees and sustainability

  • Tour the mikvah

  • Take a tashlich walk

  • Make dinner for our families in the Sukkah

  • Make edible sukkot

  • Learn Israeli dancing


Cost for students not registered in Talmud Torah:

Full Minicourse: Tuesday & Thursday 4-5:45 pm / Shabbat 9:30-Noon
(Grades K-2 are Tuesday/Shabbat only)

  • $100 - grades 3-7

  • $80 - grades K-2

Weekday Only Mini Course: Tuesday & Thursday 4-5:45 pm
(Grades K-2 are Tuesday only)

  • $70 - grades 3-7

  • $35 - grades K-2

Shabbat Mini Course: Shabbat 9:30-Noon

  • $50

Afterschool Childcare for the Mini Course is available Tuesdays and Thursdays 3-4 pm.

  • $50 - grades 3-7

  • $25 - grades K-2

Please register your students for the Mini Course by August 31, 2023, even if they are already registered for Talmud Torah.
