Food 4 Thought Initiative / Yom Kippur Fund Drive
The Food For Thought Initiative -- co-founded by Beth Israel Center member Lea Aschkenase in honor of her beloved mother, Thea Ashchkenase (zāl), a Holocaust survivor who knew hunger as a child -- works with the Madison Metropolitan School District and Second Harvest to provide food to hungry students and their families. F4TI food pantries in public schools offer discreet and easy access to take-home food supplies.
Please consider making a contribution to F4TI in the amount you might have spent on food during the Yom Kippur fast.
Any time before Yom Kippur, including when you come to shul for Kol Nidre on September 15 (but not on Shabbat), bring to Beth Israel Center cash or checks payable to Food for Thought.
