Earth Day Open House

Celebrate Earth Day at Beth Israel Center and bask in the sun that fuels our new solar panels. Join members of the community, neighboring congregations and other community groups who would like to learn more about solar energy in general and our new installation in particular. Light refreshments will be served, and we will offer a sparkling wine (or juice) toast at around 2:30 pm, followed by a brief presentation.

Learn...

Why solar power? Solar is clean, renewable energy. Tax credtis, incentives and lower panel prices made solar financially viable for Beth Israel Center.

How does solar work? Photons from the sun are collected by panels and made into electrons.

Does the system make noise? Equipment in the electrical room(s) have fans that run, but otherwise no.

How much power does the system produce? The solar electric system at Beth Israel Center will produce the usage equivalent of 9 average homes!

How long will the system last? The design life of a solar array is 30-40 years. Some parts may need to be replaced or serviced, but maintenance is minimal.
