Welcome! We are pleased that you are interested in becoming part of our vibrant, caring, spiritual community, where we explore and nurture our unique Jewish identities. We are proud to create a kehillah (community) oriented around traditional practices, egalitarian, inclusive and welcoming. At Beth Israel Center we are alive with celebration, learning, prayer and tikkun olam (repairing the world). We are a shul where Conservative Judaism resonates with our contemporary lives, and our tradition grounds us meaningfully in the present moment.

Do you have questions about becoming a member? Elissa Pollack, our Executive Director, will be happy to assist you. Elissa can be reached at (608) 256-7763 or elissa@bethisraelcenter.org. Please also feel free to contact Rabbi Betsy Forester if you would like to get to know her a bit before jumping in. Rabbi Betsy can be reached at (608) 256-7763 or rabbi@bethisraelcenter.org. To arrange a time to meet with Rabbi Betsy in person or by phone, please contact Katie at office@bethisraelcenter.org.

Are you ready to join? Terrific! Our membership form is currently under revision, so please contact the office so we can collect your information. You do not need to have answers to all of our questions in order to become a member! We ask because knowing a little bit about you and your Jewish journey helps us serve you better.

Beth Israel Center members are asked to make financial contributions that sustain our congregation and help us to thrive. Each member is expected to give what they can — both in terms of monetary contributions and volunteering. Those who can give more are asked to do so. We will be happy to discuss your gift with you.

After three years of membership, members are expected to contribute financially to our L’Dor VaDor building fund.

We strive to meet the needs of the congregation as a whole and those of each individual congregant. We will work with you to make sure that financial concerns do not stand in the way of your being part of our community. Contact Elissa Pollack at (608) 256-7763 or elissa@bethisraelcenter.org with any questions.
