Welcome to Beth Israel Center of Madison, WI
Beth Israel Center is a welcoming, traditional, egalitarian Jewish congregation with deep roots in Madison going back to the late 1890s. The nearly three hundred families of Beth Israel Center represent widely diverse backgrounds yet share a belief in the importance of preserving traditional Jewish practice in a modern context.
Serious Jewish learning combined with a commitment to helping all members move forward on their Jewish journeys is at the heart of how we connect with our Jewish heritage and make that connection meaningful in today’s world.
Weekly Shabbat services and lively annual celebrations of Festivals such as Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Hanukkah, Purim, Passover and Shavuot attract participants of all ages.
Some of Beth Israel Center’s youngest members are the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of its founders. As Beth Israel Center approaches its seventh decade, it is a vital part of Jewish life in Madison.
