Do you love to sing or tell stories? Did you know that there's a holiday once a month just for Jewish women? Do you want to build strong connections with other Jewish women in Madison?
thin crescent moon Rosh Chodesh (the first day of the Jewish month) has traditionally been seen as a holiday for Jewish women as a reward for their devotion to God. Shevat is a month about nature, regrowth and music. Please join us for a relaxed evening of song, learning and personal reflection in honor of Rosh Chodesh Shevat at 7pm at Beth Israel Center on January 26. Tikkun Leil Shavuot - May 26 |

Stay up late and learn! BIC will host a community-wide Tikkun Leil Shavuot, Saturday night, May 26 at 7:30 pm. Join us for an evening celebration of Jewish learning and Torah study, led by Madison's rabbis and community members. Dairy delights to keep learners sharp throughout the evening will be served! This year's theme: TRUTH. What is it? How do we know it when we encounter it? How do we distinguish between truth and "truthiness"? What do we mean when we say the Torah is true? Fiction with Friends - June 25 |

Read works by contemporary Jewish authors or books with Jewish themes and then trade reviews and perspectives on what you've read with old and new friends. Discussions will be facilitated by Elana Matthews, MATC writing instructor and graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop. Join us June 25 as we discuss Songs for the Butcher's Daughter by Peter Manseau.
